The Journal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology is an international journal that contains original research papers, rapid communications, mini-reviews, and book reviews, all focusing on the molecular mechanisms of action and detoxication of exogenous and endogenous chemicals and toxic agents. The scope includes effects on the organism at all stages of development, on organ systems, tissues, and cells as well as on enzymes, receptors, hormones, and genes. The biochemical and molecular aspects of uptake, transport, storage, excretion, lactivation and detoxication of drugs, agricultural, industrial and environmental chemicals, natural products and food additives are all subjects suitable for publication. Of particular interest are aspects of molecular biology related to biochemical toxicology. These include studies of the expression of genes related to detoxication and activation enzymes, toxicants with modes of action involving effects on nucleic acids, gene expression and protein synthesis, and the toxicity of products derived from biotechnology.
Journal of Bioenergetics and Biomembranes is devoted to the publication of original research that contributes to fundamental knowledge in the areas of bioenergetics, membranes, and transport, including oxidative phosphorylation, photosynthesis, muscle contraction, and biomembranes. The timely research in this international journal will be of value to biophysicists, membrane biologists, cell biologists, biochemists, molecular biologists, physiologists, endocrinologists, and bio-organic chemists.
Journal of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology (JCTB) is an international, inter-disciplinary peer-reviewed journal concerned with the application of scientific discoveries and advancements in chemical and biological technology that aim towards economically and environmentally sustainable industrial processes.
The journal publishes innovative, original research involving the controlled release and delivery of drugs and other biologically active agents. The terms "controlled release" and "delivery" are used in their broadest sense to include mechanisms such as diffusion, chemical and enzymatic reactions, dissolution, osmosis, targeting, as well as the utilization and manipulation of biological processes. A broad spectrum of studies dealing with all aspects of controlled release and delivery, including gene delivery, tissue engineering and diagnostic agents, is encouraged. The use of prodrugs and carriers such as water-soluble polymers, micro and nanoparticles, liposomes and micelles is included in the scope.
Journal of Evolutionary Biochemistry and Physiology (Zhurnal Evolyutsionnoi Biokhimii i Fiziologii) accepts for publication experimental and theoretical papers, reviews and information about the problems concerning evolution of the main forms of metabolism in connection with life origin, about comparative and ontogenetic physiology and biochemistry, biochemical evolution of animal world, as well as papers connected with the problem of evolution of functions, and on morphology, pharmacology, pathophysiology and ecological physiology.
Journal of Fluorescence is an international forum for the publication of peer-reviewed original articles that advance the practice of this established spectroscopic technique. Topics covered include advances in theory/and or data analysis, studies of the photophysics of aromatic molecules, solvent, and environmental effects, development of stationary or time-resolved measurements, advances in fluorescence microscopy, imaging, photobleaching/recovery measurements, and/or phosphorescence for studies of cell biology, chemical biology and the advanced uses of fluorescence in flow cytometry/analysis, immunology, high throughput screening/drug discovery, DNA sequencing/arrays, genomics and proteomics. Typical applications might include studies of macromolecular dynamics and conformation, intracellular chemistry, and gene expression. The journal also publishes papers that describe the synthesis and characterization of new fluorophores, particularly those displaying unique sensitivities and/or optical properties. In addition to original articles, the Journal also publishes reviews, rapid communications, short communications, letters to the editor, topical news articles, and technical and design notes.
The Journal of Immunoassay & Immunochemistry is an international forum for rapid dissemination of research results and methodologies dealing with all aspects of immunoassay and immunochemistry, as well as selected aspects of immunology. They include receptor assay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in all of its embodiments, ligand-based assays, biological markers of ligand-receptor interaction, in vivo and in vitro diagnostic reagents and techniques, diagnosis of AIDS, point-of-care testing, clinical immunology, antibody isolation and purification, and others.
The Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry is an established international forum for research in all aspects of Biological Inorganic Chemistry. Original papers of high scientific level are published in the form of Articles (full length papers), Short Communications and Focused Reviews. Topics include; the chemistry, structure, and function of metalloenzymes; the interaction of inorganic ions and molecules with proteins and nucleic acids; the preparation and properties of coordination complexes of biological interest including both structural and functional model systems; the role of metal-containing systems in the regulation of gene expression; the application of spectroscopic methods to determine the structure of metallobiomolecules; the function of trace elements in living systems; and related subjects.
The Journal of Medicinal Chemistry publishes studies that contribute to an understanding of the relationship between molecular structure and biological activity or mode of action.
